On Android, tap the blue location dot and select "Save your parking," which will add a label to the Maps app, identifying where you parked. Tap that to add details like parking garage level and spot or the amount of time left before a meter expires. You can also set meter reminders, add a photo of where you parked, and send your parking location to friends.

To find it later, tap the search bar up top and select Parking location. Or tap Driving down below, and look for "Saved parking." To delete, tap Driving > Clear. Or tap "You parked here" on the map, select More Info on the bottom left and tap Clear.

however these "indoor street views" are available on the web too

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps. If you're using Maps in Lite mode, you’ll see a lightning bolt at the bottom and you won't be able to measure the distance between points.
  2. Right-click on your starting point.
  3. Choose Measure distance.

Google Maps: How to Search for Places on Your Route
  1. Step one is to launch Google Maps app, or point your browser to http://maps.google.com
  2. Search for your destination.
  3. Tap or click on the directions button to generate the route.
  4. On your phone, tap the three-dots menu button and then tap on Add stop. On a computer, click on the plus (+) sign on the left, under the locations.
  5. Tap or click and drag the added stop up to the middle of the route.
  6. Now, search for whatever you need to add. For example, type in "petrol pump" and then search if you need to top up your car.
  7. You'll be shown suggestions of different places that match your search, and you can add any of these to your route. The listing even shows if a stop is a quick detour or not.
  8. Click on the additional destination on the PC. On your mobile, tap on it to see a description, and tap the white Location icon to add that to the route.

Searching by Location
You can look for types of places in a particular area without the area being in view. Append "near " to your search or simply add a Zip code to jump to results from that area

Finding Intersections
To find the intersection between two roads, insert an ampersand ("&") between the two street names. Search for "Broadway & E 14th St, New York, NY" to find the intersection between Broadway and East 14th Street in New York
